The s9+ robot vacuum is one of the best we've tested for cleaning hard floors and carpets. It has the most powerful suction power of any robotic vacuum cleaner available. It can be programmed to make multiple passes or adjust suction levels based on the size of the room, a feature that we haven't seen on other models. Its app allows you to modify the way it operates and also set the time the time when it will begin working, so that you can be present in the room when it moves around.

Smart mapping creates a detailed home map that can aid the S9+ to navigate efficiently and create routes. It's also self-emptying, meaning it doesn't require any intervention on your part while cleaning, and it's able to return to its base and recharge mid-clean (though it's possible to hear it be a rumbling sound back to its dock once it gets settled, a sound that sounds like the sound of a jet engine taking off). In our testing, the s9+ maneuvered over obstacles such as tables and power cables easily and never lost its charge or became stuck. It does not have the safety features of the latest models, and could get stuck on rug tassels or other obstacles it isn't able to see.

In contrast to most circular robots the s9+ is flat-fronted and has a squared front that helps it get to corners faster than round models. It's also quieter than the previous iRobot model we tried and is smaller than the Neato Botvac D7. It's not inexpensive, but it's still an excellent value for the price given how well it performs and the fact that you won't have to worry about cleaning an unclean bin following the use. It's also usually available for sale during Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Amazon Prime Day.

2. IRobot Roomba J7+

The j7+ is one of the smartest robot cleaners available. It's equipped with iRobot Genius technology that gives it the ability to sense obstacles and move around them, meaning that you don't have to worry about it smacking into walls or furniture. It also slows down when it comes close to an object so it can gently clean edges. This is particularly beneficial when you have pets that are small who leave messes.

Another excellent characteristic of the j7+ is that it can mop as well as vacuum with the help of a special mopsitter. When it notices that you are on a surface which needs to be cleaned, it shifts to its standard cleaning mode and activates an arm that has a pad. It mops the floor with a light-touch that left my floors looking and feeling like they'd been thoroughly cleaned.

After it's finished mopping the j7+ goes back to its dock and recharges. It then returns to where it left off and begins cleaning. It runs for about 85 minutes at my house, plus or minus a few minutes. It's not as long as the s9+, but it's still impressive for a machine that can do both vacuuming and mopping.

The j7+, like other iRobot vacuum cleaners, is able to avoid obstacles and detects them. It also comes with what iRobot calls Cliff Detect Technology, which prevents it from falling down stairs. It's a great safety feature for families with children.

The j7+ comes with an onboard bin that is small which means that it will have to return to the dock and empty it frequently if you have an enormous home. The J7+ can be stored easily. The Clean Base is a charging dock and also an external dustbin, and an internal bin in which the j7+ is able to deposit dirt.

The Eufy 11s is a compact, attractive robot vacuum that gives an excellent value for the money. It is able to remove pet hair efficiently and has a large dirt compartment and can run for a long time on a single charge. It's not easy to maintain and navigate, which is a problem. It lacks a companion app and voice control, but it does have a user-friendly remote. It doesn't even send you a notice when the dust box is full, so you'll need to check it regularly.

The eufy is better than the Bobsweep Bob Pro in most ways however, it's not as efficient as the iRobot Roomba 694 in many others. The iRobot is built better, has fewer parts that require regular maintenance, has a HEPA filter, is longer lasting on a single charge, and delivers better cleaning performance on carpeted floors as well as carpets that have high and low piles. It also has a smarter navigation system that can maneuver around obstacles and more advanced automation features, such as boundary strips.

Although the eufy is still an excellent choice, I recommend the iRobot Roomba 900 Series for the majority of users. The irobot mop and vacuum combo is better-built, easier to maintain, has a larger dustbin, and has superior performance on all surface types. It's also more efficient in recharge and provides longer battery life.

The eufy is an excellent alternative to the ILIFE A4s, but it's not as good as a top-end robot such as the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra. The newest irobot has a higher-quality build as well as a larger dustbin, and is able to pay for fewer monthly expenses. It also has a smarter navigation algorithm that can maneuver over obstacles and has more advanced automation capabilities, including boundary strips.
