Line-up

The album's third, Turn Back, marked a return to the classic sextet arrangement of previous albums. It was a stronger, more consistent effort with a harder edge than Hydra. The more experimental sound of Turn Back was a reflection of the growth of the band. Bobby Kimball's growing virtuosity was reflected by the vocals of Joseph Williams, who had become more confident and mature.
