WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the Best item upgrade level by +3. A random additional substat is also increased with every upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as important for the latter due to the requirement to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrading upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. However, the item Level upgrade used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader once every few weeks to ensure that your equipment is up to date.

The cost of upgrading will be based on the current level of the item being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear from other sources. For instance upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points while purchasing the same item from another player will cost 105.

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be used on any weapon or tool using an The button will display the preview of an item's next upgrade level if there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the item upgrades slot, and the current item level. For example weapons are more expensive than gloves, bracers or bracers. First, you must be aware that the crests can only be purchased for equipment with a certain rank. Each rank has an upgrade path that is different. The most basic and straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the more complex one requires as many as 20 crests based on the type of gear being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, dungeons or raids of all difficulties for higher-tier items or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons to obtain endgame gear. The crests can later be exchanged at an upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade paths and steps.

The use of these currencies isn't that difficult however, the system does introduce some modifications to the upgrade process. For instance, once an item is at the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest level possible on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests have one usage therefore it's essential to use them properly. For instance it's a good idea use all of your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment available, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next batch of upgrades you're planning on making. This is especially applicable to items like rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The account-wide discount will only be applicable if all the slots on the character are filled with high-quality gear.
