World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The item upgrade lets players boost the gear rating of an item upgrader mod by up to 700 points and add a bonus. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory and heading to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading because of their distinctive stats. (For instance an excellently broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons aren't changed much after an upgrade, and aren't worth the effort.

Weapons

Weapons can be upgraded to increase their numeric stats, such as crit chance, attack damage, PvE and damage from PvP. Weapons also come with an unchanging bonus that increases the damage they deal per second. A lot of weapons also come with an unaffected bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are equipped in a unit. In certain instances, this bonus can add up to more than the amount of damage that a weapon upgrades on its own.

The cost of upgrading a weapon is based on the nature of the weapon as well as its current level. For example an item with a rating of +2 will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while the +3 model requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade the weapon will continue to rise until it requires a higher tier of Smithing Stones, at which point it will reset to one.

Upgrades can be made to armor items to increase their effectiveness. Armor has a rerolling feature for its Enhanced Defense percent. This means that it may roll down to a lower value.

The upgrade template for a weapon will display the new stats it will gain upon upgrading, along with their relative values. This means that a weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. The 3% difference does not mean that the weapon will hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon is also possible by pressing the green button on the item upgrader menu using the arrows that circle. The item will be rerolled and change its statistics, but not reset the weapon's level or bind it to account status.

Armor

A few upgrades to your armor can make a huge difference to your survivability. Certain sets can offer MASSIVE boosts to poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, making it easier to navigate through tough terrain. The more defense your character has, the more value you get out of each point of health and it's crucial to improve your armor as often as you can.

You can upgrade your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains available in the game and in order to unlock each fountain, you must complete an additional quest involving the Stable Trotters. Once you've completed the main quest and the corresponding fountains, you can talk to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels, and the amount of materials and Rupees required to complete each level will differ. It is possible to use anything from three Red Chuchu jellies and 10 Rupees to upgrade the first armor piece, and between five Rubies or 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns to upgrade each subsequent one. The Champion Leathers, as an example, can be upgraded to a +5 defense rating, which allows you to stay ahead in cold environments with a large group of enemies. The Snowquill Headdress, on the other is able to be upgraded to +20 defense, which means you can survive a raid with friends.

It isn't possible to upgrade armor the same as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior, you should focus on upgrading your armor to increase physical strength or the power of spells. It is also recommended to save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you'll still wear by the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

This opens an GUI where you can choose the potion you want to upgrade and the amount of XP they will produce when upgraded. Upgrading potions can be done in batches of up to five at a single time, and the XP they provide will be added to your current XP total.

Once a poton is upgraded and stored, it will not degrade unless you take it out again or break the bottle in which it is kept. Clicking on the potion in your inventory will allow you to rename it.

Version 1.7.2 introduced a few changes to the mechanism of potions. For instance the splash potions now have a duration of 0.08 seconds (this is not the same as the 22.5 seconds shown on the item hover display). The table for potion is constructed from four Wood Planks, and two Glass. It can be utilized in both Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons like Java Edition.
