World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Item upgrades are a way to increase the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type it can increase an item's Mark Level or Rarity and boost additional stats.

Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next Best item upgrader by a specific amount.

Item Level

The value of an item's basic stats increase when it is upgraded. The value is the sum of all the upgraded benefits (attack magic attack, attack defense). Upgrading items can be expensive, depending on the upgrader you choose and the kind of upgrade you decide to do. This is due to how many perks must be replaced in order for the item to get upgraded.

The level of an item is a popular measure of power, and can be seen on all tooltips for items. It can also be used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can use, since PvP is limited at lower levels. The average level of the item can be found in the character sheet.

When deciding whether to purchase or sell equipment players can look at the level of an item. It's a measure of the item's damage and its quality. Comparing items from the inventory of a seller can be done using the level of the item.

The level of the item level upgrade can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the item's full description, including the ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel in chat.

There are several theories about the method by which the level of an item is determined. One theory is that the item level is a number that comes from a formula that calculates the value of an item's stats are worth. It takes into consideration that different benefits are valued differently and that gems in the sockets boost the value of the item. This can result in a calculated amount for the item level upgrade's level, which is usually quite close to the actual Blizzard item level.

It's not the only factor that affects the level of an item. The level of the area where the item dropped can also alter its stats. For example, it could increase the item's haste or crit score. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have higher the ilvl than items from lower level instances.

Item Stats

Item stats are a big component of what determines the value of an item for players. The game uses them in many ways to encourage players not to limit themselves to a single weapon and to motivate them to try out other weapons. The base stats on a weapon are increased by the weapon's stat modification, which are themselves increased by the player's skill.

The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats of the item. The rarity of an item determines its upgrade cost. A white or grey item for instance, can only be upgraded one time however, items with rare tiers can be upgraded multiple times with higher prices.

Affixes are a different method to alter the stats of an item. These are special stat boosts that can be added to an item by the player, and they come in all shapes and sizes. The affixes can do things like give the item additional damage, or give a specific ability to the item (such as reviving the dead or decreasing the cooldowns), or make the item unique by putting a special name to the item.

All affixes can be re-rolled at the moment by selecting them in the upgrade window pressing the green button. This procedure will cost the player a specific amount of gold as well as items that can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same manner as the other rerolling options.

Players can upgrade an item with specific stats or reroll affixes. The possible stat ranges for an item are determined by the item level, but every item is guaranteed to have at minimum one stat within the range, unless it is an exclusive item or a God roll from a boss in a raid.

Another thing that could change is the possibility to upgrade equipment without having to roll the attachments, or pick which stats to enhance. But, like base equipment, this would have to be done on a per-item basis, and the item compare interface wouldn't show all possible stats gained or lost at once.

Item Luck

A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the odds of finding items and the properties that are spawned from loot drops, and the intensity of the properties. It does not, however, directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It merely gives players the chance to upgrade their gear in earlier waves and is therefore more useful in early game runs as opposed to later ones, since most players prefer greater weapon scaling and defense over raw damage gains.

Luck can also boost the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith’s overall chance of upgrading that increase with each level of the item. These can also be enhanced by using anti-materials such as the Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.

The shields, armor and weapons come with a default Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the type of material used) to give +40 Luck, or to increase the luck of the item up to 140.

Furthermore some items, such as the Hollow infused weapon can be used to boost the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5percent. These items are available at the store or crafted using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Not all upgrades work. Cash shop items can be used to increase the chances of success for an upgrade or to prevent players from losing their items if it is not successful.

When you upgrade an item, the rate of success is displayed in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of completing the upgrade successfully and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations to the extent to which success rates can be increased, and the overall chance of an upgrade failing cannot be greater than 100%..

The luck of an item can also affect the success of an upgrade. All items have a success rate of 25 percent, and each item with Luck increases this chance by five percent.

Note that item upgrades are rendered above the items in the inventory therefore enchantment glints and other effects may be obscured by the overlays. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
